The Bacchus by Kentholz. A uniquely special oak dining table crafted from wine press timbers.
We had heard about this almost mythical oak when we first met our supplier in Austria. It was always talked up as the absolute cream of repurposed timbers. For us, this sounded like the holy grail; mature, centuries-old wine press timbers kept indoors away from the ravages of the Alpine winter, soaking up the wines of the south-facing slopes, and letting Mother Nature and Father Time do their thing.
The results are breathtaking.
Kentholz has now secured limited supplies of these stunningly rich timber stocks and we are proud to be able to introduce the Bacchus, a table as bold and imposing and as rugged as the Alps themselves.
Authoritative and resolutely tactile, The Bacchus is exclusively available in larger sizes.

The legs on the Kentholz Bacchus are finely-sanded to a smooth and agreeable finish. These are our specially selected Smokey oak timbers which have developed their honeyed character during centuries of loyal service in now abandoned mountain huts and lodges.
We carefully grade and match the tones and textures of the oak, and that is the magic ingredient which gives each Kentholz Bacchus its unique and rich properties.
We then treat and seal the surfaces with hard-wax oil to guarantee decades of faithful enjoyment.
All Kentholz timbers are FSC-Certified.
Every Kentholz is handmade locally in Berlin using sustainable materials. Our use of painstakingly restored wood, locally fabricated steel and recycled terrazzo all contribute to minimising our environmental impact and working towards zero waste.
One of a Kind
No aspect of the process is standardised or prefabricated. The individual details and markings of our boards and terrazzo add unexpected colours and forms making each piece unique and impossible to reproduce.
